COMFORT BLANKET: Heated throws and blankets can be pricey.

Argos has a five-star-rated Dreamland herringbone heated throw for £80.

To keep costs down, the Cozytek luxurious electric heated throw is down to £32.49 from £49.99 at Futuradirect.co.uk.

Cheaper still is the non-heated, but super-cosy Simple thermal TV blanket from B&M, £10.

BED REST: Keep warm between the sheets by making sure you have a heavy winter duvet in place.

The Slumberdown Soft and Huggable 13.5-tog duvet is half-price at Argos, down from £24 to £12 for a double.

For extra heat, Dunelm’s Cosy and Warm electric blanket is a hot buy, with prices from £22.

HOT TO TROT: Sometimes a hot water bottle is all you need and these days they come in all shapes and sizes.

Dunelm has a great choice including a Fleece Zipper two-litre hot water bottle, £6, and a fur hot water bottle belt, £15.

WARMING WEARABLES: You can get hold of all kinds of heated clothing, from fingerless gloves to warming gilets that either have a battery pack or a USB plug in.

The OHS heated hoodie from The Range, at £28.99, has a plug-in rechargeable battery pack.

TOASTY TOOTSIES: Give your toes a treat with the Naeo foot warmer from Boots.

Not only does the USB-powered pouch heat up your feet, its vibration-mode also gives them a massage. It costs £20 but you can buy three for the price of two or combine with other products in the current multi-buy offer.
