All but a handful of stores, such as those in shopping centres which may be contracted to open, will be closed.

Aldi said staff who are working on any of these days will get a day in lieu.

But normal hours will apply on all other days over the festive period.

Opening times can vary from store to store, so be sure to check Aldi’s website for the latest on opening times.

This means shoppers will get plenty of time to cram in their Christmas shopping in the run-up to the big day.

It comes after Iceland confirmed it is closing all of its stores on Boxing Day to give workers a “well earned rest”.
